What Is a Dental Implant?
A dental implant is a small titanium post that is surgically placed in the jaw, where it fuses with the bone to act as a replacement tooth root. Once healed, it supports a custom crown, bridge, or full arch of teeth. Because the implant integrates with your bone, it stays firmly in place, preserves the jawbone, and looks and functions like a natural tooth.
What are the Benefits of Dental Implants?
Unlike dentures or bridges, implants stand on their own without relying on neighboring teeth. Patients choose implants because they:
- Restore full chewing strength and let you eat what you want
- Look and feel like natural teeth
- Preserve jawbone and prevent the sunken look of missing teeth
- Do not slip, click, or require adhesives
- Can last a lifetime with proper care
Implant Options We Offer
Every case is different, so Dr. Rosa tailors the solution to your needs:
Single Tooth Implants
A single implant and crown replaces one missing tooth without altering the healthy teeth beside it.
Multiple Tooth Implants
Several implants can support a bridge to replace multiple missing teeth in a row.
Full-Arch and All-on-4
For patients missing most or all of their teeth, All-on-4 dental implants and full-arch restoration replace a complete arch on as few as four implants, a secure and permanent alternative to removable dentures.
Same-Day Implants
In select cases, we can place an implant and a temporary tooth in a single visit. Learn more about same-day dental implants.
The Dental Implant Process
Consultation and 3D Imaging
Treatment begins with an exam and a cone beam CT scan, which lets Dr. Rosa evaluate your bone and plan placement with precision.
Building the Foundation, If Needed
If you have lost bone in the upper jaw, a sinus lift or bone grafting may be needed first to create a stable base for the implant.
Implant Placement
The implant is placed during a focused, comfortable procedure. Our surgeons use X-Guide dynamic navigation for exceptional accuracy, and IV sedation is available for patients who prefer to be fully relaxed.
Healing and Restoration
Over the following months the implant fuses with your bone. Once healed, your final crown, bridge, or arch is secured in place, completing your restored smile.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much do dental implants cost in NYC?
The cost depends on how many implants you need and whether procedures like a sinus lift or bone graft are involved. We provide a clear estimate at your consultation and help you understand your insurance coverage before treatment begins.
How long do dental implants last?
With good oral hygiene and routine checkups, dental implants can last a lifetime. The crown on top may eventually need replacement, but the implant itself is designed to be permanent.
Am I a candidate for dental implants?
Most healthy adults with one or more missing teeth are candidates. If you have experienced bone loss, a sinus lift or bone graft can often rebuild the foundation so implants become possible. A consultation and 3D scan give you a definitive answer.
Can I get implants the same day as my extraction?
In many cases, yes. When conditions allow, an implant can be placed at the time a tooth is removed, and sometimes with a temporary tooth attached. Dr. Rosa will let you know if you are a candidate.
Are dental implants safe?
Yes. Implants are a well-established, highly successful treatment. Placed by a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon using 3D planning, they have an excellent long-term success rate.
